You learn quickly about others players in the game - their competitive nature REALLY shines through (or not). It's all timed, and you don't want to get caught with the device when the final buzzer goes off. This is one of the most delightful games I've played as an adult. It's like the old TV game "You Don't Say" in that you get to describe a person, place or thing and try to get your partner to say the exact word or phrase.
Shipped in time to receive for Christmas without paying for expedited shipping. Great price for a great product.
Not worth the money. Great fun for the first hour of play, second game was almost all repeated words, by the third game we knew every word/phrase.
We keep score based on how many phrases are correctly guessed by the team vs. After a while the phrases start to repeat. First off, we don't play hot-potato style only because we kept dropping the game.
As many other reviewers have pointed out, there's no "off" switch, which would help out when traveling with it. My last recommendation is to buy it at Wal-Mart for the lowest price. Also, Hasbro would make a lot more money if they had a version that could be updated with new phrases (like on a memory card).
My family really loves playing this game. This game is a lot of fun, but does have it's flaws. I have no idea why Amazon has it priced so high.
Instead we split up into teams and each person on the team takes a turn doing all the phrases until time runs out then we pass it off to the next team. who is still holding the game when the timer goes off.
Often, it is one of the highlights of the get together. We love to bring this game to family gatherings and parties. I would recommend purchasing it. We have many hilarious memories attributed to the game. It is VERY easy to play AND no extra pieces or setup. From young (must be able to read) to old, everyone seems to enjoy it quite a lot.
